What we collect, why we collect it, and — just as importantly — what we deliberately don't. If anything here is unclear, email us and we'll explain it in plain language.
This Privacy Policy explains how Kalaa ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our dashboard, SDKs, and related services (the "Service"). It applies to you as a Kalaa account holder, and to the extent you submit end-user identifiers to us for per-user spend tracking, it also explains how we handle that data on your behalf.
If you're an end user of a product built by one of our customers, and you have questions about data submitted to us, please contact that company directly — they control what identifiers get sent to Kalaa and why.
We collect the following categories of information:
Kalaa's SDKs are deliberately built to observe cost, not content. We do not capture, transmit, or store the prompt text you send to an AI provider, the completion or response you receive back, file uploads, embeddings, or any other payload data. Our SDK reads only the structural metadata a provider's API response already includes for billing purposes — which model answered, how many tokens were used, how long it took — and discards the rest before it ever leaves your infrastructure.
This means Kalaa is not, and does not need to be, a place where your users' conversations or your application's AI output ever lives.
We use the information described above to:
We do not use your usage metadata to train AI models, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active, so your dashboard, historical reports, and trend data continue to work. If you close your account, we delete your personal information and usage metadata within 90 days, except where we're required to retain certain records for longer — for example, billing records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes.
If you're located in the UK, EEA, or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@kalaa.cc. We'll respond within one month, as required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in to your dashboard and to remember basic preferences. We may use limited analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our marketing site, so we can improve it; these don't build an advertising profile of you, and Kalaa does not run advertising of any kind. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect parts of the dashboard that rely on staying signed in.
Kalaa and its subprocessors may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States and United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure it remains protected to the standard required by UK and EU data protection law.
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our infrastructure — to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we treat this responsibility seriously and will notify affected customers promptly in the event of a data breach affecting their information, as required by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or through the dashboard before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
Questions, requests, or concerns about this policy can be sent to hello@kalaa.cc.
