Straightforward terms on trials, billing, and cancellations. If something's gone wrong with a charge, email us — we'll sort it out.
Every Kalaa plan includes a 7-day free trial. Because we don't require a payment method to start a trial, there's no charge to refund during this period — if you decide Kalaa isn't for you, you simply don't add a card, and your access ends when the trial does. No action is required on your part to avoid being billed.
Once you subscribe to a paid plan, you're billed monthly in advance, starting from the date your trial converts or you otherwise begin a paid subscription. Your subscription automatically renews each month unless you cancel before the next billing date. It's your responsibility to keep your payment details up to date to avoid interruption of service.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future billing — you will not be charged again — and you'll retain access to your current plan until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. We don't require a reason, a phone call, or a retention conversation to process a cancellation.
Because access to your plan is available in full from the moment a billing period starts, we don't offer refunds for partial months or unused time when you cancel partway through a cycle — your access simply continues, unbilled again, until that period ends.
That said, we'll issue a full refund without argument in cases including:
Refund requests outside these cases are considered individually — reach out and explain what happened; we'd rather look at the specifics than hide behind a blanket rule.
If a billing error is ours — a duplicate charge, an incorrect plan price, a charge after a cancellation we should have honored — we will correct it as soon as we're made aware, typically by refunding the affected charge in full within 5 business days. You shouldn't have to fight for a refund that's clearly owed to you, and we don't intend to make you.
If you upgrade to a higher plan mid-cycle, we charge a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period, and your new plan's limits apply immediately. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so you keep the benefit of what you've already paid for until then — no partial-period refund is issued for the difference.
For anything related to billing, cancellations, or refunds, email hello@kalaa.cc with your account email and, if relevant, the charge in question. We aim to respond within one business day.
